The University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy is currently ranked #3 among all pharmacy schools in the United States. Founded in 1892, our college is the only pharmacy school in the state. We have campuses in the Twin Cities and in Duluth, which helps us better serve the needs of Minnesotans, especially those in rural areas. We call this model, “One College, Two Campuses.”
Graduates of our college's four-year Pharm.D. program enter the profession as well-qualified, highly sought-after pharmacists who are prepared for a patient-centered practice. Our curriculum includes three years of didactic/lab coursework integrated with early experiential learning, plus one year of experiential clinical work at sites around the state. A revised curriculum will be implemented in fall 2013.
We also train scientists in our M.S. and Ph.D. graduate programs. We have 120 graduate students in five programs: experimental and clinical pharmacology, integrated biological sciences, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, and social and administrative pharmacy.
Our research and clinical activities focus on:
  • drug discovery and development
  • pharmaceutics and drug delivery
  • experimental and clinical pharmacology, including personalized medicine
  • neuroscience
  • cancer therapies and chemo-prevention
  • geriatrics
  • pharmacy management and economics
  • healthcare outcomes
